REMINDER: Life can be and should be fun!

How is it that children make fun out of anything?!
Give them a little bit of mud and some wellington boots and they are set for the day.
Give them a new toy and BOY OH BOY, you are their new favourite person!!

But at what point in life does that change?
Somewhere along our road, some of us lose that ability to have fun and be playful.
Life becomes more serious, we have more responsibilities and we get caught up in the mundane life.

You often hear adults say things like “ohhh, to be young again” and we reminisce on our younger days as our ‘funner’ days.

Why can’t we have a fun life as an adult too?
Why can’t we mix responsibility and play and have the best of both worlds.

Life gets to be fun, it deserves to be!

Here are a few hot tips about adding fun and joy to your life.

Playful Mindset
Laugh more! At yourself, with others and over the small things.
Make the small tasks fun: chuck your favourite tunes on while you’re doing the mopping, pretend your shopping trolley is a race car or have competitions with your partner when it comes to cooking dinner.

Hobbies
A lot of adults lack hobbies - whether it is because of time, money, lack of passion or just not thinking about it.
However, fin
ding something you LOVE to do is going to instantly add joy to life.
It could be:
- starting a social sports team
- learning a new skill like woodwork
- getting music lessons and learning an instrument
- getting into painting or pottery
- reading or baking
- volunteering

Celebrate Wins
Reward and celebrate all wins from sticking to a new habit, getting a promotion at work, achieving a goal or buying a house.
Take yourself out for a coffee, buy that new outfit or have a lounge room dance party!

Grow and Learn
Whether courses, mentors, books, personal research or community groups, learning new skills and educating yourself on topics you love ticks boxes for growth mindset as well as allowing you to have fun and play with learning.
Learn a new language, invest in a self-development course or join a book club.

Plan Adventures
Holidays, ski-diving, hiking or
We LOVE adventures - getting out of your comfort zone is scary but always pays off to be a boost of fun adrenaline, having a little stay-cation or vacation is refreshing, making memroies

Say YES to More
Getting stuck in a rut is common and can turn into a vicious cycle of mundane life. Be open to spontaneity as spontaneous plans always end up being the best plans.
If a friend invites you to a week night dinner and you normally HATE weeknight dinners, say yes.
If you are offered a scary experience, say yes.
If there are free tickets up for grabs for a concert you don’t even like, say yes.
If a blind date is set up for you, say yes.

Community and Friends
Having community groups, support networks and fun friends is one of my personal favourite ways to have fun and make life enjoyable. They uplift you, get you out of your comfort zone, allow you to try new things and kick you up the butt when you get stuck in ruts.
If you notice the people around you are stuck in a rut too, chat to them about your plan and they might just want to follow in your foot steps too!

Bring out that inner child.
Do the things you used to love doing when you were young.
Get your hands dirty, prioritise time for fun, make life fun.

We want you to be on your death bed (in many many years to come!) and look back with such joy about your life rather than looking at it wishing you worked a little less and played a little more.

After all, we should be working to live not living to work!
