How Do I Set Up My Day or Week for Success?

What feels better than starting your morning off completely calm and prepared for the day ahead?
Or getting to Monday morning and just knowing your week has been set up for success?
Hint: not much 😜

Having a successful day and week takes time, commitment and a conscious effort to plan and set yourself up accordingly.
It often requires setting time aside to do the planning rather than just winging it on the day and hoping everything goes to plan!

HOW TO SET YOUR DAY OR WEEK UP FOR SUCCESS:

  • Use Sunday Wisely
    - complete a meal planner for the week
    - food shop
    - meal prep any meals or snacks that can be prepared in advance
    - write a weekly plan of all commitments, due dates, bills, birthdays, events, meetings, appointments, social commitments etc.
    - do the washing

  • Start Planning The Afternoon Before
    - write a to-do list or schedule
    - tidy workspace/desk before logging off for the day
    - get out your outfit
    - plan your morning routine
    - make and pack your lunches
    - do a quick house tidy before turning in for the night

  • Set Your Intentions
Whether it is writing them down, telling a loved one or just spending 10 minutes in silence thinking about them - setting intentions for the week is going to set your standards, encourage you to stick to them and allow you to focus on the positives.

  • Reflect
Auditing your previous day/week allows you to see what went well and what you could change for a better day/week.
At the end of each day, find 3 positives of the day and check-in with the expectations you set.

  • Health and Habits
What habits are you striving to achieve and how will you be achieving them? Make a plan to follow, a checklist to hold yourself accountable or a post-it note on the mirror to remind you.
How are you going to prioritise your health and wellbeing this week? Maybe it will be increasing exercise, getting to bed earlier or reading daily.

  • Allow Time For You
A successful day and week involves joy, fun and happiness.
Prioritise some ‘you’ time and some self-care time - run a bath, go for a massage, meet a friend, go for a walk in nature.

As we said, a successful day and week comes from taking the time to plan.
Prioritising a couple of hours a week and committing to this will have a significant impact on how you view each day, your happiness and your overall wellbeing.
